Engineered for Your Charger

Most wallbox chargers ship with a fixed tethered cable that's either too short, the wrong colour, or starts to wear after a few years of daily use. The Wottz tethered cable is the solution.

Built with our own EV flex (40% lighter) and our in-house designed Type 2 plug, it's a direct upgrade for any tethered charger. IP54 rated when mated, impact tested, and backed by a 2-year warranty.

Every cable passes 28 test points before it leaves our UK facility.

Works With Your Charger

The Wottz tethered cable is compatible with all major home and commercial chargers that use a tethered connection, including Andersen, Zappi, Pod Point, Wallbox, Ohme, EVBox, and more.

Use it to extend the reach of your existing charger, replace a worn or damaged cable, change the cable colour to match your setup, or switch between Type 1 and Type 2.

The 7.4kW version suits standard single-phase home chargers. The 22kW version is for three-phase installations, delivering three times the charging speed. Not sure? 7.4kW is the right choice for most UK homes.

What Our Customers Say

The quality is leagues ahead of any other charging cable I've used. Lightweight, flexible, and beautifully made. You can tell this was designed by people who actually care about the product.

— James T.

I've tried three different EV cables before finding Wottz. The difference in build quality is immediately obvious. The flex is incredibly light and easy to handle, even in the rain.

— Sarah M.

Ordered a 7.5m cable and it arrived the next day. The carry bag is a nice touch. Everything about this feels premium. From the packaging to the plug design. Won't be going anywhere else.

Frequently Asked Questions

What current rating do I need?

Type 2 to Tethered (7.4kW) is the standard for most UK home chargers. It delivers 32A on a single-phase supply, the maximum speed available on a typical domestic installation. This is the right choice for the vast majority of UK homes.

Type 2 to Tethered (22kW) is for three-phase installations. If your property has a three-phase electricity supply (common in some commercial premises and newer builds), this cable delivers up to 22kW, charging roughly three times faster.

Type 1 to Tethered (7.4kW) is for older vehicles with a Type 1 (J1772) charging port.

Can I install it myself?

No. Tethered cables connect directly to the internal wiring of your wallbox charger. This must be done by a qualified electrician. It's a straightforward job for any OZEV-approved installer and typically takes under an hour.

Is it compatible with my charger?

If your home charger has a tethered (permanently attached) cable, the Wottz tethered cable is almost certainly compatible. This includes Andersen, Zappi (myenergi), Pod Point, Wallbox, Ohme, EVBox, BG SyncEV, Rolec, and most other UK chargers.

Not sure? Send us your charger model and we'll confirm.

How long should the cable be?

5 metres is standard and suits most setups where the charger is near the parking spot.

7.5 to 10 metres gives you flexibility if you park further from the charger or the port is on the far side of the car.

15 metres and above is common for detached garages, long driveways, or commercial sites.

We offer lengths from 2m to 50m, so there's always an option that fits.

What's the difference between single phase and three phase?

Single phase is what most UK homes have. It delivers power on one circuit at up to 7.4kW. This is enough to fully charge a typical EV overnight.

Three phase delivers power on three circuits simultaneously, tripling the available speed to 22kW. It's less common in UK homes but standard in many European countries and some UK commercial properties.

If you're not sure, you almost certainly have single phase. Your electrician can confirm.
