What Can You Power?

A typical EV battery holds 60 to 100kWh of energy. That's enough to run a fridge for a week, power tools on a job site all day, or keep the lights on during a power cut.

Common uses: camping and caravanning, outdoor events, emergency home backup, power tools on site, market stalls and food trucks, or simply charging your devices off-grid.

The Wottz V2L cable delivers up to 3.6kW through a standard socket, so anything you'd plug in at home works just the same from your car.

What Our Customers Say

The quality is leagues ahead of any other charging cable I've used. Lightweight, flexible, and beautifully made. You can tell this was designed by people who actually care about the product.

— James T.

I've tried three different EV cables before finding Wottz. The difference in build quality is immediately obvious. The flex is incredibly light and easy to handle, even in the rain.

— Sarah M.

Ordered a 7.5m cable and it arrived the next day. The carry bag is a nice touch. Everything about this feels premium. From the packaging to the plug design. Won't be going anywhere else.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is V2L (Vehicle to Load)?

V2L lets you use your electric vehicle's battery as a portable power source. The V2L cable connects to your car's charging port and provides a standard plug socket on the other end, so you can power household appliances, tools, and devices directly from your EV.

How much power can I draw?

Most V2L-capable vehicles output up to 3.6kW (16A). That's enough to run a kettle, a microwave, power tools, a TV and sound system, or multiple smaller devices simultaneously.

The maximum output depends on your vehicle. Check your car's manual for the exact V2L specification.

How long will my car battery last?

It depends on what you're powering. A typical 60kWh battery could theoretically deliver 3.6kW for around 16 hours. In practice, most vehicles let you set a minimum battery level (e.g. 20%) so you always have enough charge to drive home.

Running a few lights and a phone charger at a campsite? Days. Running power tools on a job site? A full working day, easily.

Which outlet socket do I need?

UK 1 Gang is the standard choice for most UK users. One standard 3-pin socket.

UK 2 Gang gives you two sockets side by side.

Schuko is the European standard, useful if you're travelling or powering European appliances.

CEE 1P 16A is a round industrial connector, common for caravans and some power tools.

Waterproof 1 or 2 Gang adds IP-rated protection for outdoor use in wet conditions.

Does using V2L affect my car's warranty?

No. V2L is a manufacturer-supported feature built into your vehicle. Using it with a properly designed cable like the Wottz V2L does not void your car's warranty. It's no different from using any other built-in feature of your EV.
